ఈశ్వరుడి ఆజ్ఞ లేనిదే చీమైనా కుట్టదంటారు...అలాగే సాయిశ్వరుని ఆశిస్సు లేకుండా..అక్కినేని నాగార్జున కి షిరిడి సాయి గా నటించే ఇచ్చ ...రాఘవేంద్రునికి  షిరిడి సాయి చిత్రాన్ని తీయాలనే పట్టుదల...కీరవాణి కి ఈ చిత్రానికి అద్భుత సంగీతాన్నిఇచ్చే అవకాశం  దక్కేదా .... ఎలాగైతేనే బాబా కథ ఎక్కువ మందికి చేరువవ్వాలనే సదుద్దేశం కావొచ్చు ....

సాయి కథ :

దత్తాత్రేయుని అంశం సాయి గ ఉద్భవించడం...బాలుడిగా వేప చెట్టు దగ్గర కనిపించడం...తరువాత కొన్నేళ్ళకు చాంద్ పాటిల్ తో షిరిడి రావడం మొదలుకుని...సాయి భిక్షాటన ...సాయి బోధలు కొన్ని ....కొందరు భక్తులతో సాయి కి ఉన్న సావాసం ...బూటి మురళిదర మందిర నిర్మాణం ...చివరం సాయి సమాది చెందేవరకు..అతి క్లుప్తమైన కథగా ఈ సినిమాని మలిచారు ....

పాత్రదారులు .....

షిరిడి సాయి పాత్ర అక్కినేని నాగార్జున చేస్తున్నారు అని చెప్పినప్పటి నుంచి నేడు సినిమా విడుదల వరకు...ఆ పాత్రలో నాగార్జున ఎలా ఉన్నాడో ...ఉంటాడో అనేదే సర్వత్రా ఆసక్తిగా మారింది...ఆయన మాటల్లో ...నాగార్జున తన మనసులో బాబా ని ఒక లాగ ఊహించుకొని ...చాల వరకు వణకడం లాంటివి లేకుండా సహజం గా చెయ్యటం ద్వారా ...నాటకీయత ఏమి లేకుండా చాల సునాయాసంగా ఉంది ఆయన నటన...కాని ఛాలా సన్నివేశాల్లో ఆ హుషారుతనం వాళ్ళ నాగార్జునే కనిపిస్తాడు ...కాని ముసలి బాబా గా నాగ్ కి వంద శాతం మార్కులేయోచ్చు . పూర్తి తెల్ల గడ్డం తో ఆ అరగంట ఆ పాత్రని రక్తి కట్టించారు ...ఒక్క మాటలో చెప్పాలంటే బాబా పాత్ర నాగార్జున కి పూర్తిగా అతకలేదు..అలా అని గతకనూ లేదు ....

భక్తులలో బాబా ప్రియ భక్తుడు నానావళి గా సాయికుమార్ సబాష్ అనిపిస్తాడు...శరత్ బాబు మహాల్సాపతి గా అలరించాడు...బాయాజబాయి, లక్ష్మి బాయి షిండే గా చేసినవారు ఛాలా బాగా చేసారు...

దాసగను గా శ్రీకాంత్ ...రాధ కృష్ణ మాయిగా కమిలిని పాత్ర పరిచయాలు సరిగా లేకపోవడం తో తేలిపోయారు ...

షియాజీ షిండే ...ఆలి,చిట్టిబాబు పాత్రలు రాఘవేంద్రుని పైత్యం పూర్తిగా తగ్గలేదని రుజువు చేస్తాయి...శ్రీహరి పాత్ర కూడా ఆ పిచ్చిలోనే కొట్టుకుపోయింది .

సినిమా లో ఎత్తు పల్లాలు ...

"అమరారామ సుమారామచరి" అంటూ సాయిబాబా విగ్రహ అభిషేకం తో చిత్రం ఛాలా ఆసక్తిగా మొదలవుతుంది ..."బాపు" గారి అత్యద్భుతమైన బొమ్మలతో "దత్తాత్రేయుని" జననం రక్తి కట్టించింది...బాల సాయి ఉన్న సన్నివేశాలు బాగున్నాయి ..."సబ్ కా మాలిక్ ఏక హై" అనే కల్పిత పాట కొంచెం శృతి తప్పింది ....

కాని సాయి షిరిడి ఆగమనం...పశు పక్షాదుల ఆకలి తీర్చమని చెప్పే సందేశం...బిక్షాటన ప్రాముఖ్యత ...నానావళి పరిచయం ఆసక్తిగా ఉన్నాయి...మళ్లీ    భాటియా(షియాజీ షిండే) పిచ్చి చేష్టలు కొంత వరకు కథని నడిపిస్తే....ఎక్కువ సేపు ఉండటం విసిగించాయి... సినిమా నిడివి తక్కువ ఉండటం వాళ్ళ..బాబా మరియు ఆయన భక్తులు అలా పరిచయం అయ్యి అలా ముసలి వారయిపోతారు ...ముసలివాడిగా నాగార్జున ఛాలా అందంగా ఉండటం తో "బూటి" కృష్ణ మందిర నిర్మాణ సమయం లో వచ్చే "సాయి పాదం" అనే గేయం ...అలాగే సాయి అంతిమ యాత్ర ఆకట్టుకుంటాయి ....

అద్బుతమైన పాటలు ....

సినిమా లోని కథావస్తువు కన్నా కీరవాణి సంగీతం పది కాలాల పాటు గుర్తుండేలా ఉంది ....శ్వేతా పండిట్ పాడిన "అమరారామ సుమారామచరి" , సోనునిగం పాడిన  "దత్తాత్రేయుని అవతరణం.."..కీరవాణి ఆలపించిన "నీ పదమున ప్రభవించిన గంగా యమునా..." సునీతా స్వరం లో "ఎక్కడయ్యా సాయి" ..అలాగే "శరణమ్ము శ్రీ సాయి పాదం"..ఈ పాటలు వినటానికి..అలాగే రాఘవేంద్రుని చిత్రకరణ తో ఛాలా చాలా బాగున్నాయి..."శరణు శరణు" "శ్రీరామనవమి" బాగున్నాయి 

సాయి లీలామృతం సరిపోలేదు .....

సాయి లీలలకి ఎం కొదవ....కోకొల్లలు ....కేవలం రెండు గంటలు చెపితే తనివి తీరేదా...ఇంకా ఏందరో ఉన్నారే సాయి సచ్చరిత్రలో ...వారందరూ...కనీసం వారిలో ఇంకొందరు ఉండుంటే ఇంకెంత నిండుగా ఉండేదో కదా!! ఉన్న పాత్రలు ..చెప్పిన కథలు కూడా కుదించడం తో పూర్తీ స్ధాయిలో కథ కంచికి చేరలేదు ...ఏదో తెలియని వెలితి... ఉన్న కాసింత సమయంలో పిచ్చి హాస్యం అవసరమే లేదు ...ఈ చిన్ని లోపాలు సరి చేసుకొని ...ఇంకొన్ని కొత్త విషయాలు జత చేసుంటే "షిరిడి సాయి" నిర్మాణం సార్ధకం అయ్యుండేది...అంతే కాదు చరిత్రలో నిలిచేది ....

ఓం సాయి..శ్రీ సాయి..జయ జయ సాయి...

సాయి కథని ప్రేక్షకులకి అందించాలని చేసిన ఈ ప్రయత్నం హర్షణీయం...సాయిబాబా చెప్పే మంచి సూక్తులు పది మందికి చేరటం ఛాలా అవసరం ....హృద్యమైన పాటలు ....ఛాలా మంచి మాటల కోసం ...అలాగే సాయి కథ అంటె ఆసక్తి ఉన్నవారు తప్పకుండా చూడాల్సిన సినిమా ...

ఈ ఏడాది 'అధినాయకుడు' ...'ఊ కొడతారా...' తరువాత వెంటనే ముచ్చటగా మూడోసారి తన అభిమానుల్ని అలరించడానికి నందమూరి బాలకృష్ణ "శ్రీమన్నారాయణ" గా బాక్సాఫీస్ దగ్గర సందడి చేయడానికి వచ్చాడు. 'మిరపకాయి' 'బిజినెస్ మెన్ ' 'పూల రంగడు ' ...ఇలా వరుస విజయాలు అందించిన ఆర్ ఆర్ మేకర్స్ నుంచి చాలా వేగంగా నిర్మించబడింది ఈ సినిమా ...అంతకు ముందు సామాన్యుడు లాంటి సినిమా తీసిన రవి చావలి దీనికి దర్శకుడు... సైలెంట్ గా వచ్చిన ప్రతిసారి బాలయ్య విజ్రంభించాడు ....సో ఈ సారి అలాంటి surprise ఏదన్న ఉందేమో చూద్దాం...

కట్టే కొట్టే తెచ్చే ....

శ్రీమన్నారాయణ ఓ బాద్యత గల జర్నలిస్ట్ ...రైతుల కోసం పోగు చేసిన 5000 కోట్ల నిధి  కోసం ఆరుగురు విలన్లు శ్రీమన్నారాయణ తండ్రి(విజయకుమార్)ని పధకం ప్రకారం చంపేస్తారు..సో వారందరినీ చంపి ఆ డబ్బుని ఎలా రైతుల కి పంచాడో అనేదే క్లుప్తంగా ఈ సినిమా కథ ....

శ్రీమన్నారాయణ & కో 

బాలయ్య బాబుకి జర్నలిస్ట్ అంటే కొంచెం కొత్త పాత్రే ...ఎప్పటిలా బారి డైలాగులు కాకుండా "బాదడానికి బయోడాట ఎందుకు రా " "చెప్పడం లో confusion ఉండదు..కొట్టడం లో compromise ఉండదు " అంటూ పోకిరి స్టయిల్  లో కొచ్చేసాడు ....అడపా దడపా కొంచెం పెద్ద డైలాగులు కూడా ఉన్నాయిలెండి ...ఇక ఇద్దరు బామలతో సరసం అంటే బాలకృష్ణుడు సదా రెడిగా ఉంటాడు....కాని పాటల్లో మాత్రం పెరుగుతున్న బరువుని దాచలేకపోయాడు . సినిమాలో విలన్లని చంపడానికి కొన్ని కొత్త గెట్టప్పులు వేసాడు...వాటిలో నరసింహ స్వామీ అవతారం ఒక హైలైట్ అని చెప్పొచు ...మొత్తానికి మోతాదు మించకుండా ....ఆవేశాన్ని..కామెడిని..ఫైట్స్ ని సింపుల్ గా చుట్టేసాడు 

లక్కి గా బాలయ్య బాబు కి ఈ సారి ఇరువురు బామలు బానే సెట్ అయ్యారు ....పువ్వాయి పువ్వాయి  అంటూ అలరించిన పార్వతి మిల్టన్కి జర్నలిస్ట్ గా మంచి రోలే దొరికింది ...పాటల్లో మంచి expressions ఇస్తూ ...కొంచెం నిడివి ఎక్కువున్న పాత్రే బాగా చేసింది ... ఇదే బ్యానర్ లో ఇషా చావ్లా కి మూడో సినిమా ...కూతంత కలరోచ్చి పార్వతి కి పోటిగా గ్లామర్ చిలికించింది ...

దువ్వాసి మోహన్ చేసిన "sim card" కామెడి క్లిక్ అయ్యింది ....కృష్ణ బగవాన్ ..ఎమ్మెస్ ఎపిసోడ్ తుస్సంది ...

ఈ సినిమాకి ఆరుగురు విలన్లు ....కోట,రావురమేష్."మర్యాద రామన్న" నాగినీడు, "చత్రపతి కాట్రాజు" సుప్రీత్, జయప్రకాష్ రెడ్డి అండ్ ఒకప్పటి హీరో సురేష్ ....అందరు జస్ట్ ఓకే అనిపించుకుంటారు...

నాన్న గా విజయకుమార్ ఓకే ఓకే ...అమ్మ గా సుధా ఆంటీ overaction షరా మామూలే ...జైలర్ గా ఆహుతి ప్రసాద్ ...CBI ఆఫీసర్ గా వినోదకుమార్ బాగున్నారు ....ముఖ్యంగా ఆ రోల్స్ బాగున్నాయి ...

శ్రీమన్నారాయణ ....ద PASSWORD SPECIALIST...

చెప్పడానికి one line స్టొరీ గా ఉన్న ఈ కథ ని password కాన్సెప్ట్ తో కొంచెం కొత్తగా మలిచాడు దర్శకుడు . ఒకే password ఆరుగురు విలన్లు షేర్ చేస్కోడం ...వారిని చంపుతూ ఆ password  చేదించడం..అనేది ముగింపు తెలిసినా కూడా సినిమాని కొంచెం interesting గా తీయడానికి ఉపయోగ పడింది ...కాకపొతే సినిమా మొత్తం ఈ   password అనే word వాడటం కొంచెం నవ్విన్చోచ్చు. అలాగే దువ్వాసి మోహన్ అండ్ హీరోయిన్ల మధ్య జరిగే sim cards...out of coverage area... అంటూ సాగే కామెడి దియేటర్లో ఆడియన్స్ ని బానే నవ్వించింది ...fights  ఈ సినిమాకి highlight.  ఎక్కడ స్రుతి మించకుండా crispy  గా ఉన్నాయి ...చక్రి సింహ కి ఇచ్చిన పాటాలే మళ్లీ వాడుంటే పోయేది ....ఉన్న వాటిల్లో ఇద్దరు హీరోయిన్లతో వచ్చే పాట బెటర్ ...అండ్ "తక తై తక తై" బాగుంది ...రవి చావలి అబ్బో సూపెర్ గా తీసాడు అనిపించుకోక పోయినా  ...ఆ పర్వాలేదులే అనిపించుకుంటాడు .... 

పొరపాట్లు ....

యంగ్ జనరేషన్ తో పోటి పడాలంటే వారిలా స్లింగా ఫిట్ గా ఉండి తీరాలి.. సో బాలయ్య అర్జంటుగా కొంచెం తగ్గాలి... పెద్ద హీరోల సినిమాలు జస్ట్ మామూలు కథ తో ఆడే రోజులు పోయాయి ....సినిమాలో  "అహో అద్బుతం" అనేలా విషయం ఉంటేనే వారి సినిమాలకి ఆడియన్స్ వస్తున్నారు ...సినిమాలో ఆరుగురు విలన్లు ఉన్నా...అందరు ఒకరి తర్వాత ఒకరు హీరో చేతిలో చావడానికి క్యూ కట్టడమే తప్పితే పెద్దగా చేసేదేం లేదు ....దర్శకుడు విలన్లని చంపడానికి ఓ మూడు వెరైటీ గెట్టప్పులు వేయించి  సగం లోనే హ్యాండ్ ఇచ్చాడు... వాటిల్లో నరసింహ స్వామి ఒక్కటే హైలైట్ ...విలన్లని ఇంకొంచెం తెలివిగా చూపించి ఉంటె హీరో రోల్ ఇంకా elevate అయ్యేది ...పాటలు ఇంకా బాగుండాల్సింది ....

చివరగా....

ఇద్దరు హీరోయిన్లు ...ఆరు ఫైట్లు ...నాలుగు మాస్ పాటలు...కొన్ని కామెడి బిట్లు .... మన తెలుగు సినీ ఫార్ములా ఎక్కడా మిస్ అవ్వలేదు ... బాలకృష్ణ అభిమానులకి ఎప్పటిలా సంతోశాన్నిచే సినిమా..

మంచి స్క్రీన్ ప్లే...అండ్ ఎక్కడా extras  లేకపోవటం వల్ల మిగతావారికి కూడా బోర్ కొట్టకపోవచ్చు...  వచ్చే వారాల్లో షిరిడి సాయి  అండ్  life is beautiful  ఉండటం వల్ల ...కేవలం మాస్ జనాన్ని కొన్నాళ్ళు అలరించోచ్చు...బాలకృష్ణ సినిమాలు ఇష్టపడే వారు సరదాగా ఓ సారి చూసెయ్యండి .....

Sudigaadu movie review

సుడిగాడు....అల్లరి నరేష్ మరే సినిమా కి ఇంత క్రేజ్ రాలేదంటే అబద్దం ఎంత మాత్రం కాదు.....అంతా trailor మహిమ .....వివిధ సినేమాలలోంచి తీసిన స్పూఫ్లు ...మనని యిట్టె ఆకట్టుకున్నాయి ..

తమిళ సినిమా "తమిజ్ పదం " ఆధారం గా తీసిన సినిమా ఇది...సినిమా ఆ trailor  అంచనాలని అందుకుని సూపర్ గా దూసుకుపోతున్న సందర్భంలో ..సినిమా గురించి రెండు ముక్కలు....

సుడిగాడి కథా కమీషను...!!

పుట్టగానే సిక్స్ పాక్ తో పుడతాడు మన సుడిగాడు.....తన ఒంటెలు తో విలన్ కొడుకుని చంపుతాడు...అదెలాగో సినిమాలో చూడాల్సిందే...ఇక అక్కడ నుంచి విలన్  మన హీరోని వెతకటం...విలన్ల దగ్గర నుంచి తప్పించుకుని హైదరాబాద్ని ఉచ్చ పోయిన్చాటానికి వచ్చిన సుడిగాడు ...పెద్ద హీరో గా ఎలా ఎదిగాడో తెలియాలంటే ఆద్యంతం ఈ స్పూఫుల సినిమా చూడాల్సిందే...

అల్లరి నరేష్....ద సడెన్ స్టార్ ...

"నాకు కొంచెం తిక్కుంది..దానికో లేక్కుంది.." అంటూ మెడ మీద చేతిని నిమురుతూ పవర్ స్టార్ ని....ఎవడు కొడితే మైండు బ్లాక్ అయ్యి  రెడ్ గ్రీన్ బ్లాకు అవ్వుద్దో...కంఫ్యూషన్ లో నన్ను నేను కొట్టేసుకుంటా అంటూ..మహేష్ బాబు ని....కరెంటు తీగ లా సన్నగా ఉంటానని...NTR ని....ఇలా అందరిలా చేసి మనందర్నీ మెప్పించాడు అల్లరోడు...అక్కడితో ఆగాడా...8 పాక్ చూపించి సునీల్ ని ఉదికించాడు...రాజమౌళి ఆయుధాలతో ఆయనోకో చమక్ ఇచ్చాడు ...అపరిచితుడి లా మారి శంకర్ కి జలక్ ఇచ్చాడు ....అరటి తొక్క తో..సాక్స్ తో...కూడా ప్రాణాలు తీయోచని చూపించాడు...ఓవరాల్ గా అల్లరోడు అదరగొట్టాడు ...

మోనాల్ గజ్జర్ అల్లరి నరేష్ అన్ని సినిమాల లాగానే ఈ సినిమా వరకు పర్లేదనిపించే అమ్మాయి... ఆఫ్ కోర్స్ అల్లరి పక్కన చేసిన అమ్మాయిలూ ఆ సినిమా తోనే మాయం అయిపోతారు...

నరేష్ నాన్న గా నరేష్.. అమ్మ గా హేమ..బామ్మా గా కోవై సరళ ...జఫ్ఫా రెడ్డి గా బ్రాహ్మి ..తిక్కల్రెడ్డి గా జయప్రకాశ్ రెడ్డి ...నరేష్ ఫ్రెండ్స్ గా ఎమ్మెస్ , కొండవలస ,, ఎల్బి ...అండ్ నరేష్ మామ గారిలా షియాజీ..ఆయన pa గా కృష్ణ భగవాన్ ....ఒకరేంటి ఇలా అందరు ఉన్నారు...అందరు నవ్వించారు ....

బోలెడన్ని నవ్వులు...

సినిమాలో నవ్వులకి అసలు కరువే లేదు....ఒక్క హీరో అని కాకుండా...తమిళ తెలుగు హీరోల చేష్టలని సరదాగా ఆట పట్టిస్తూ ఎక్కడ బోర్ కొట్టాడు సినిమా...సీమ పురం లో తొడలు కొట్టే స్కూలు ...శివ-భవాణి పేరడీ ...ఓంకార్ పేరడీ...టీవీ సీరియల్ ఎపిసోడ్ ...అలాగే రాజమౌళి ఆయుదాలు...శంకర్ అపరిచితుడి కాన్సెప్ట్....మర్యాద రామన్న ఎపిసోడ్ ...పోకిరి ఎపిసోడ్ ..ఇలా ఒకటేంటి అన్ని highlights ఏ ....అలాగే ఎంత కామెడి సినిమా అయిన అన్ని సీన్లు పేలవు కదా..సో కొని బోర్ కోట్తోచు...బట్ నవ్వులే ఎక్కువ ...సూర్యవంశం ...సుస్వాగతం లాంటి తమిళ సినిమాల తో హిట్లు కొట్టిన భీమనేని మళ్లీ తమిళ సినిమా రిమేక్ తో హిట్టు కొట్టాడు ....అన్ని స్పూఫులతో కధ అల్లటం సులువు కాదు ...హీ ఈజ్ సూపర్బ్ ...మాటలు అద్బుతం ..పాటలు అనవసరం...ఖర్చు అల్లరోది సినిమా కి ఎక్కువే పెట్టారు...

ఫైనల్ గా చెప్పోచేదేంటంటే 

తక్కువ అంచనాలతో వెళ్లి ఎక్కువ నవ్వుకున్న సినిమా ఇది...సినిమాలు ఎక్కువ చూసేవారికి ఇంకా బాగా నచ్చుతుంది ... ఈ స్పూఫు గాడు...సుపరేహే ....

Ek Tha Tiger Review

Bollywood's Most “Wanted” and Box-office’s hot favorite Salman Khan is back on his lucky “EID” season with big bang with his most anticipated “Ek Tha Tiger”. Audience got to see the cute pair of Salman-Katrina back in this film. Kabir Khan directs the film under Yash Raj Productions…

Plot:

India’s Top Spy Avinash Singh Rathode aka Tiger (his codename) is given a mission to trace a scientist in Dublin, Ireland. There he falls in love with Zoya. This first love of Tiger with Zoya, brings unexpected twists in his life…makes him travel through various destinations in the world. How tiger finally wins Zoya’s love forms the crux of this unusual Love Story…

Salmans Showtime Begins….

He’s mere presence is magnetic enough to lure the crowds to the theatres. The Box-office registers just forget the upper limit. Adjectives apart, Sallu Bhai does his usual. He underplays the spy…romances his lady love Kats in rather innocent way and of course, Zoya falls for him for the same. He makes fun of his name saying “Tiger is the name usually given to doggies”, that’s Salman leaving no stone for critics. But till the stunts go to an unbelievable level...What the entire “Avengers” do with their so-called powers and gadgets, Sallubhai does it so naturally!! 

Katreena is of course gorgeous and no-doubt in it. Post-Interval, few scenes, she does it with no make-up.  She gets to do few stunts with the bad guys. Surely would have been supported by a dupe, But the enter sequences look so natural. And the final song "Maasha Allah" is big treat to her fans.

Girish Karnad plays Tiger’s boss. Ranvir Shorey plays Salmans colleague.

Love story blended with Action….

Surprisingly “Ek Tha Tiger” is more a love story rather than an Action flick. Kabir Khan who earlier directed Kabul Express and New York easily blends the love story with action elements that suits Salman. And the chemistry of the lead pair made his task much and much easier… sometimes their eyes speak lot with not much of dialogue.

And the movie travels through plush locations in Ireland, Istanbul and Cuba, thus adding freshness on-screen. Aseem Mishra’s Cinematography excels in every frame.

What’s missing in Tiger….

Well all good said so far…there’s definitely something huge missing here… Apart from Sajid-Wajids “Maasha Allah” (that too comes at end-titles), the film has no other numbers that are worth rendering. So Film’s music director Sohail Sen does not add a penny to the flick. Even the background scores does not give you the racy effect, it rather slows down the proceedings. Both Love and Action collide with each other many a times, shifting the audiences mood now and then. Salman’s usual funny one-liners are missing to an extent. Thus you definitely miss that josh you see in Salman’s previous films

No Second thoughts as it is Salman’s flick….

As Salman is on high ride for last couple of years, the point of “when are you gonna watch the flick” matters rather “whether you gonna?” . “Ek Tha Tiger” definitely has a better content than his previous flicks and the love-track, Action episodes and the locations and of course Salman are its USP. On the flip side, very slow pace some times and not so great music slogs the film. So it’s Salman who is a crowd puller rather than content in this case too…

UU Kodathara...Ulikki Padathara (UKUP) Review

Manoj is one hero who travels in unbeaten path…He is now back with a super-natural thriller “UU Kodathaara-Ulikki padathaara”. Having Nandamuri Balakrishna playing a vital role in the film simply magnifies the movie to totally different level. Manchu Lakshmi produced this flick while debutant Shekhar Raja directed it.

Plot: Manoj comes to an old “Gandharva Mahal” where the soul of Narasimharayudu (Balakrishna) is residing. What is motto behind Manoj’s visit? What is the story behind the Gandharva Mahal and Narasimharayudu? “UU Kodathara-Ulikki padathara” takes us to the journey filled with untold love story, ever-lasting revenge, lust and greed.

Characters:

Balakrishna is no doubt USP of this flick. His stills in this movie already grabbed lot of attention. Truly Balayya looked very charming and royal throughout his presence. Playing a “Soul” is completely refreshing experience for him and his fans. Character is etched very well, balakrishna takes it to heights. Balayya infused life into the film in one word. Well all said, it still needs more power. It should have been fiercer than it was, it could have brought pace to the movie. Remember Rajnikanth's role in Pedarayudu..swift and powerful.

Manoj is usual self jumping all over …doing some naughty stuff all over with loads  of energy. He definitely thinks out of box. He shows his violent side in first bloodshed song…and his lust in (s)explosive second song. Those two songs are definitely not kid-friendly.

Sonu Sood is seen as powerful evil in the flashback. He does the role with such an ease as if he is a seasoned Telugu actor. Saikumar is not consistent, partial villain and partially dummy. Ajay is good as Tantric. Prabhu seems to have made Tollywood his home now. Dharmavarapu and team provide some comic relief in first half.

Manchu Lakshmi’s old get up is out of place. Expected more from her role, but it is given undue importance towards end for it being her own “MANCHU” film. Thank god, Deeksha Seth is slowly learning to talk.

UU kodadaamaa…

Manoj’s entry…his funny violent  flashback as told to Dharmavarapu’s team and “1,2,3,4,5” game is hilarious enough.  Flash back is divided into two parts, revealing a chunk before the interval, So that second half promises something more. Balakrishna simply steals the show during those 20 minutes. CG work for Balayya's entry in smoke..is very good.

And crux of the plot gets revealed later before the climax. It’s really good thing as it holds the audiences curiosity to know the facts behind the souls and Lakshmi Manchu.

Shekhar Raja’s story has some stuff in it and his direction is good at parts and he shows Balayya carefully. But the crisp and pace is missing.

Good things comprise lavish and colorful Gandarvamahal. Back ground score by Chinna is good. Two songs “Anuraagame haarathulayye” and “ Idi ani..adi ani” are good among Bobo Sasi’s compositions while other 3 crap songs dilute them. Cinematography by Rajasekhar and Art by Bupesh r bhupathi( for Gandharva Mahal) is appreciable. Surely should appreciate Manchu Lakshmi's production efforts.

Sare ippudu Ulikkipadadaam…

For Gandharva Mahal being constructed with around 6 crore, Mohan Babu might have asked the team to shoot entire film inside it, there is rarely an outdoor scene!! As we talked about two flashback episodes, the filling between these two episodes is utter slow, Have your mobiles charged to play some games. Look at family song that comes in between, tests our patience to the peaks. 2 songs should have been easily muted and audience should have given a fast-forward option for at least 30 minutes.

Finally…

Though “UU kodathara…ulikki padathara” could not deliver the complete thrill it promised in trailers, It definitely tries to be different. Balayya’s presence if more powerful should have been good…But he pulls the film to great extent. Had it been crispier with no much drag, Film would have scored more. But be aware, Film sure has some little chills and sufficient stuff that might entertain you…

EEGA MOVIE REVIEW

There used to be a golden era’s of Telugu cinema, where people waited for the movies irrespective of who the hero of the film is. Thank God, we still have some directors who enjoy that status…and SS Rajamouli who made “Success” and “Standard” as his surnames, stands first among them in current times. And after churning out blockbusters, Rajamouli had decided to take a huge break from regular pot-boilers to give us an un-expected revenge saga of “EEGA”.

Let’s see till how far this EEGA…sorry our Rajamouli’s EEGA flies….

Plot: Naanee, the boy next door loves the girl next door Bindu (Samantha) for 2 years. And rightly at the moment when Bindu reciprocates his love, he is brutally killed by Sudeep. And Nani reborn as EEGA and now it is EEGA’s turn to take a revenge for his death and at same time protect his love.

EEGA…an SS Rajamouli’s child

   This tiny thought of EEGA taking a revenge on human being seems funny and simpler on paper. But it takes real guts for one to bring that one line idea to a 2 hour movie, that too for a movie bound to have expectations since it is Rajamouli’s film. So firstly Kudos to the Rajamouli’s team for that entirety and for that miniature perfection.  

Rajamouli lately has gained some ease in telling a love story as part of his revengeful plots. And the result is we have that initial cute love episode between Nani and Bindu. It’s a different one surely that has its share of humor and of course loads of love.

His real litmus test begins once EEGA comes on screen. Definitely it takes some time to register in our mind, a very unfamiliar and unsung hero. And so the director starts at reality showing the capabilities and traits of EEGA. EEGA soon becomes lovable and you start feeling for it, once you connect with its emotions.  It works harder on its revenge and cleverly safeguards her love….and all that is made in believable way…A big standing ovation to Rajamouli Sir….

VFX and Sudeep…

Hero here is EEGA… and not to forget, the hands behind it are VFX team for providing near to the real graphics work. They are really above the par for the audience easily connected with the EEGA on-screen. There is one-hour of Graphic work which comprises half the screen time. SenthilKumar cinematography is perfect. Keeravani’s back ground score infuses life into all the scenes. The Title song “EEGA...EEGA” and “Nene Naani ne” are good as back ground songs. Other melody…”Konchem konchem” is nicely pictured.

Then Kannada star Sudeep is such a brilliant actor…He is excellent as dreadful Villain. Then he superbly acts in all the scenes with EEGA, remember he should actually imagine and deliver on screen, as EEGA is later substituted at post-production time.

Samantha is cute…But should have been better if she get rids of same old chinmayi’s voice. Nani leaves real good mark in the time he has. Of course you will see his naughtiness in EEGA’s tantrums.

Tagubotu Ramesh scores small and good cameo. Rajamouli’s regular aide acts as Tantra.

So what to look for!!

One should look for …how the small EEGA could (un)control huge traffic. How it managed to warn Sudeep saying “I WILL KILL YOU”? How it re-expressed its love to Bindu? It’s home work to kill Sudeep. How it managed to win Tantric? And you should see all those “N” number of tricks it plays to torture Sudeep. Climax is really superb, where an equal tug war takes place. Don’t walk out till the end titles scroll completely as EEGA has surprises till then.

Finally…

EEGA’s verdict and outcome should not be compared with high voltage entertainers from Rajamouli. Being EEGA, it has its drawbacks in form of few dull moments here and there. So basically EEGA is targeted for kids…and they surely will enjoy the flick. So a decent run in multiple languages should return its revenues….
