It’s Dusshera season and
time for big flicks that are coming to theatres one after another in very short
span. Surely Mega Power Star Ramcharan’s
Brucelee is top on the list . With Megastar Chiranjeevi’s warmup cameo.. and
Srinu Vaitla’s re-union with Writer duo kona-Gopi has surely turned many
eyeballs.
Lets see how the Brucelee
the Fighter fared at box-office…
Plot : Ramcharan plays
Karthik who loves his sister very much and sacrificies his studies for her to
become collector. But a bigger problem comes via her marriage proposal.
Brucelee has to step in to resolve them.
Actors:
Ramcharan is easily one
of the best dancers in Tollywood and he proves it in each and every Song. Liked
him in sentimental scenes this time. But there is lot of space to push himself
in comedy time.. Actually he never tried it much before. He is always good with
mass histrionics. He gets it right when he says "Eelagelaga”
Rakul is beautiful as
usual and gets good space in the first half and becomes nice part of the plot
by imagining charan as Cop and moving the story forward.
Rao Ramesh as an angry
father is good. Nadiya has very limited screen presence and somehow not utilized as mother in-law to
Ramcharan’s sister. Sampath Raj plays cunning baddie and husband to Nadiya and is
good. ArunVijay plays baddie is ok. Mukesh Rishi as good cop and Shiyaji
Shindey as bad cop balances well.
Krithi karbanda as sister
is just there to thank his brother half a dozen times and she is some how
linked to main villain through marriage proposal.
There is big roar in
theatres for entrance of Brahmi.. people still love him lot and it is upto
directors to use him properly. There is nothing fresh in his role of suziki
Subramanyam and it slightly resembles the one in “Race Gurram” who unknowingly fires
and helps in catching the villain. Srinu Vaitla cautiously do not prolong him.
Jayaprakash does double
role for a purpose and is good. Posani and 30 Years Prudhvi silently make us
laugh. Ali is good as PK in short stint. Saptagiri and Vennela Kishore are
fine.
Sweet and simple first
half.
Brother
helping his sister in every possible way and getting scolding from
misunderstanding father… though seen in many films.. is still likable because
of that love and affection of us towards family. So Vaitla gets pass marks
there. Heroine thinking Hero as the cop and pulling him into several
problematic situations is good and nice idea. That makes way for good action
sequences and songs one after other. And Interval nicely connects the Major
Villian problem and the Family.
Confused Second Half..
Whatever is the first
half.. Srinu Vaitla connects it to family by second hour. There was so much
noise over his in-house drama in his previous films.. So he has to deliver some
thing different. So even he brings in comedians .. but did not put in
hilarious episodes there. He deliberately cut short them and jumps into some
double-action drama which does not work out wholly. While there is enough
content but should have been carefully placed on screen.
Thaman gave decent album
and all songs are good on screen. I did not like unnecessary intervention of a comedian
in last Song.
Boss is Back
It’s much awaited before
watching the movie and much much awaited while watching the film. Megastar
Chiranjeevi is just as fresh as his last film on screen or we can say even
charming than that. Its Mega superb to see him on screen.
Finally..
It’s a mixed bag this
time. While slightly clichéd second brings down the Mega meter, Good first
half.. songs with Charan's dances and of course the Megastar are the Major
pluses of the film..
Rating
55+5 of course for the
entry of Mega Star!!
